The first of three free community meals was held on Tuesday, June 21 from 5:30pm to 6:30 p.m., in the church fellowship hall.  The menu was hotdogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings, as well as many desserts.  There were about sixty (60) folks present for this first meal. Thanks to the committee and all volunteers for making this event possible for our community.  Our next free meal will be on July 19, beginning at 5:30 pm.

New members to Scout Troop 326 are: Zach Dickerson, Jack Gardner, Josh Penn, Joel Ingram, Preston Painter, and Davis White.  The scouts attended the Merit Badge College on Saturdays in March and April to work on their Family Life, Citizenship in the World, and Music Merit badges.  This was a great opportunity for the scouts.  They were appreciative of adult leaders Burr Fox and John Myers for being with the scouts. – During Winter Camporee Weekend of February 18th, Troop 326 attended Patrick Henry District’s Winter Camporee.  They competed in relays and in a fire building competition and received 1st place trophy!

Youth Projects

Our youth recently met to do some service projects around the church and grounds. They worked hard cleaning out the memorial garden area, pulling weeds and removing yard debris. Everyone also kept a close eye out for snakes, and luckily none were found! The youth also spent some time planning painting and redecorating ideas for the youth room. Broad Street Christian Church is blessed with ample area to engage in youth ministry, and our youth and parents plan to put it to good use in the coming months! A youth pool party is planned for Sunday, June 5th at Forest Park Country Club from 2pm to 5pm.
